Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel test positive for COVID-19

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden have tested positive for COVID-19, the Royal Court has confirmed. The Crown Princess and the Prince have mild symptoms but should recover well. The Crown Princess, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar were immediately quarantined in their home at Haga Palace. The Royal House also said that the work on contact tracing the infection has begun.

The full statement released by the Royal Court said:Their Royal Highnesses The Crown Princess and Prince Daniel isolated themselves after the Crown Princess experienced cold symptoms. Today, the Crown Princess Couple tested positive for COVID-19.”

The Royal Court further added: “The Name Day celebration of The Crown Princess at the Royal Palace, which would have taken place tomorrow 12 March, is cancelled.”

According to Margreta Thorgren, Director of the Information Department, the Crown Princess Couple have not been around King Carl XVI Gustaf or Queen Silvia lately.

In November, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia both tested positive for COVID-19. In a statement, the Swedish Royal Family said that the Prince and Princess only had mild flu-like symptoms and that they were doing well under the circumstances. They were immediately quarantined at their home with their two children. They are now completely healthy.
