A royal visit for all a king’s soldiers on Christmas Eve

For many, it’s the most magical day of the year and some of those working on Christmas Eve got a royal visit to add some sparkle to their day.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her family met the Royal Guard in Stockholm in a Christmas Eve outing.

Accompanied by her husband, Prince Daniel, and their two children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, the heir to the throne visited the soldiers and officers of the Royal Guard to wish them a Happy Christmas.

The Royal Guard looks after the security of the Royal Palace in Stockholm as well as the Drottningholm Palace. At Christmas, they form a main part of the military presence in the Swedish capital.

The Crown Princess and her family saw the most important meeting of the morning during their trip and also spent time with the guards on duty at the main gates.

Later, Crown Princess Victoria read the Christmas gospel on Swedish television.
