From one queen to another- a trio of royal jewels on loan for an important visit

For their arrival, Queen Letizia wore a pair ruby and diamond earrings; these distinctive earrings are shaped like a dove holding a wreath. They are part of a parure that the Saudi royal family gave to Queen Sofia as a gift.

Queen Margrethe hosted a State Banquet. In addition to wearing Queen Ena’s Fleur-de-Lis tiara, one of the pieces from the joyas de pasar collection, Queen Letizia wore a pair of statement sapphire and diamond earrings. A tiered design featuring three major sapphires, these earrings were part of another set that the Saudi royals gifted to Sofia.

For a day engagement, Letizia wore a pair of emerald and diamond earrings for a visit to the University of Copenhagen. The modern earrings are part of an emerald and diamond set that Queen Sofia wore for Felipe and Letizia’s 2004 wedding. Letizia has been seen wearing these earrings as early as 2006.
