Spain’s royals celebrate a future queen as she approaches milestone birthday

The heir to the throne of Spain is about to come of age and with just days to go until Princess Leonor celebrates her birthday, her parents have shared some special snaps from her family album.

In the first, the future queen is seen as a baby in the arms of her mother on the day she came home from hospital.

In another, Leonor is seen smiling as she sits down on a step as she became a big sister following the arrival of her only sibling, Sofia, in April 2007.

The photo album also takes in her time at nursery school as well as behind the scenes moments from her first steps into public life.

And it finishes with a special image of her with her sister, taken as she graduated from UWC Atlantic College in the summer of 2023.

Leonor, Princess of Asturias will turn 18 on October 31st 2023.
