In aid of Children’s hospitals in Serbia, Crown Princess Katherine’s charity organisation “Lifeline” will next week host a gala dinner at The Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge, London. Serbian Crown Prince Alexander will attend the event with his wife, Crown Princess Katherine. Crown Princess Katherine’s charity organisation “Lifeline” has made this an annual tradition. Funds raised during the dinner will go towards supplying children’s hospitals in Serbia with medical equipment. If you want to read more about the dinner, you can do so here.
When Crown Princess Katherine’s charity organisation “Lifeline” celebrated its 20th anniversary it also held a charity gala at Claridge’s in London. That event raised money for the Cerebral Palsy Society in Greece and the Children’s Home Foundation in Greece. In addition to the Serbian royals, the event was also attended by Princess Beatrice of York.
This year’s dinner, like the years before, will be a memorable evening for a good cause. Andrew Eborn, a renowned inspirational speaker, will guide the guests through the evening. There will also be a live performance by RJ Gibb, son of the late Robin Gibb from the Bee Gees. A charity auction will be held by Sotheby’s and all the money raised goes directly to the Crown Princess Foundation to help Serbian children.
The Serbian royal couple has been working for many years to improve the situation of those who need extra support. Last year they took part in several special events including a charity evening and auction at the University Women’s Club in London to raise funds and awareness for the treatment of children with disabilities in Serbia.
During one of her interview`s with Royal Central, the Crown Princess said: “I had parents that taught me the joy of giving, not the joy of taking. And they didn’t just tell me; they lived their life by giving. They prepared me for my role without knowing what my future would be. I was very young, and when you learn the joy of giving when you are young, you never forget it. I prayed to God for an opportunity to give of myself since that is happiness, and God gave me Alexander and a whole country. So when you pray, you have to make sure that is what you want.”
In 1993, Crown Princess Katherine founded the Lifeline Humanitarian Organisation which currently has offices in Chicago, New York, Toronto, London and Athens. This organisation, together with the HRH Crown Princess Katherine Foundation, works to collect money for medical equipment that has been delivered to numerous hospitals in Serbia.
