Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia visits children’s hospital

Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia visited a children’s hospital in Serbia on Thursday. This was part of an annual tradition that the Crown Princess has to visit a hospital every Easter. Crown Princess Katherine visited children in the Children’s Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases “Dr Dragisa Misovic“ and in the Clinical-Hospital Center Zvezdara and handed them the Easter gifts which were generously donated by Lifeline Chicago Humanitarian Organization.

Crown Princess Katherine was accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Betty Roumeliotis. During the visit the Crown Princess said:  “I am the happiest when my Foundation and I bring joy to the children at the time of the greatest Christian Holiday, Easter. Today’s donation was made possible with the help of Lifeline Chicago and other good people. I wish a lot of happiness and love to all the doctors, nurses and children. Happy Easter!“.

The visit came just a few days after the opening of the annual charity Easter bazaar. Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia officially opened the traditional Easter Bazaar of handicrafts made by women refugees and children with special needs in Mercator Center in Belgrade.

The Serbian royal couple has, for many years, been working to improve the situation of people experiencing difficulties The couple were in London at the start of February for another fundraiser. They also spoke to Royal Central’s Senior Correspondent, Oskar Aanmoen, during a charity dinner in London in February.

In 1993, Crown Princess Katherine founded the Lifeline Humanitarian Organisation which currently has offices in Chicago, New York, Toronto, London and Athens.
