Crown Princess Katherine makes Easter visit to children’s hospitals

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia spent the day visiting children’s hospitals on Sunday to mark the  Easter holiday by the Julian calendar.

This is a yearly tradition for Crown Princess Katherine where she visits sick children and gives them a selection of Easter treats, including cuddly toys, toy cars and sweets.

The Serbian Crown Princess was accompanied by her sister, Ms Betty Roumeliotis, as they visited children in the University Children’s Hospital in Tirsova Street. They also visited patients at the Children’s Hospital for Pulmonary Diseases “Dr Dragisa Misovic“.

“My Foundation and I make traditional visits to our health institutions for children, as every year. We are here to make the treatment of children easier for doctors and nurses. It is nice to bring joy to the children at the time of the greatest Christian Holiday, Easter” said Her Royal Highness.

She continued, “Today’s donation was made possible with the help of Lifeline Chicago and many donors, our friends, people and companies. I wish a lot of happiness and love to all the doctors, nurses and children. Happy Easter!“

Lifeline Chicago is a humanitarian organisation in Serbia that Crown Princess Katherine is a patron for. She founded the organisation back in 1993 in order to provide critically needed humanitarian aid to people that need it the most in Serbia.

Whilst she thanked a number of people during her speech, Crown Princess Katherine thanked Mr Wilco Egger in particular for his donation of special toys to help the rehabilitation of children in the hospitals.

Crown Princess Katherine often makes donations to help hospitals across Serbia. Last month she delivered 500,000 euros worth of medical equipment and supplies to the Clinical Hospital Center Zemun with the help of Dr Douglas Jackson, the President and CEO of Project C.U.R.E.
