The Netherlands releases special images to mark King Willem-Alexander’s 10 years on the throne

The Royal House of the Netherlands has released new, special images to mark King Willem-Alexander’s ten years on the Dutch throne.

The photos feature the King, his mother, Princess Beatrix, and his 19-year-old daughter, Princess Amalia. They were taken in December 2022 at Noordeinde Palace by Gemmy Woud-Binnendijk.

The images come from the same set of photos released for the 56th birthday of Willem-Alexander earlier this month and the 85th birthday of Beatrix in January.

Queen Beatrix abdicated in favour of her eldest son, Willem-Alexander, on 30 April 2013; from that point on, she has been known as Princess.

Since Willem-Alexander’s ascension to the throne, Princess Amalia has been heir apparent and held the title of Princess of Orange.
