Photos of Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands released ahead of 50th birthday

The Royal House of the Netherlands has released photos ahead of Prince Constantijn’s 50th birthday on 11 October. He is the younger brother of King Willem-Alexander and the late Prince Friso and the son of former queen, now Princess Beatrix and the late Prince Claus.

The photos were taken by Jeroen van der Meyde in September and contain images of the Prince, his wife Princess Laurentien and their three children: Countess Eloise, Count Claus-Casimir and Countess Leonore.

Constantijn was born on 11 October 1969 at Utrecht University Hospital in Utrecht. He married Princess Laurentien in a civil ceremony on 17 May 2001 and a religious ceremony two days later.

His mother, Queen Beatrix abdicated in favour of his eldest brother, Willem-Alexander on 30 April 2013. Constantijn and his wife remained in the Royal House with the throne change, but his children left the Royal House. However, they remain in the line of succession and as part of the Royal Family.

Prince Constatijn is fourth in the line of succession behind his three nieces.
