A birthday first for a princess

Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg has celebrated her birthday and it was an extra special one as it’s her first since becoming a mum. As is now a royal tradition, the princess took to social media to thank everyone for their good wishes.

Her royal family shared a portrait of the princess to mark the special day. It included a message that read “Princess Alexandra thanks you for all your kind wishes!”

Her Royal Highness is the fourth child and only daughter of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, Prince Felix, and Prince Louis are her older brothers while Prince Sebastien is her younger brother.

Princess Alexandra has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy; she also holds a master’s degree from the Irish School of Ecumenics in Dublin. She rarely carries out royal engagements.

In November 2022, she announced that she was engaged to Nicolas Bagory, a French entrepreneur. On 22 April 2023, the couple married in a civil wedding ceremony in Luxembourg City. They held their religious wedding ceremony at a church in Var France on 29 April of that year.

On 24 May 2024, the Princess gave birth to the couple’s first daughter. Victoire Bagory was born in Paris. Alexandra is eighth in line for the Luxembourgish crown, while Victoire is ninth.
