It’s a girl for the Hereditary Prince and Princess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha

The Hereditary Prince and Princess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha welcomed the birth of a daughter on Wednesday in Munich. This is the couple’s second daughter.

His Highness, Hubertus, Hereditary Prince of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (41), released a statement to members of the media: “With great joy and gratitude, we announce the birth of our daughter Madeleine Aurelia Viktoria Carin of Saxony-Coburg and Gotha. Mother and child are of the best health, and we are very happy and grateful for the birth of our daughter. ”

Princess Madeleine Aurelia Victoria Carin is the third child of the royal couple. Princess Katharina Victoria Elizabeth Cheryl was born in April 2014, and Philipp Hubertus Andreas Christian was born in July 2015.

The Hereditary Princess of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, (née Kelly Rondestvedt), married His Highness, the Hereditary Prince Hubertus of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha in May of 2009. The 42-year-old Princess is an American originally from Florida. She obtained both a Bachelor of Arts as well as an MBA from UCLA. She would eventually move to New York where she would work as an investment banker where she would then meet her real-life prince.

In an interview given to ITV before their wedding, she explained how she met her future husband: “I was at a restaurant with my girlfriends, and I saw Hubertus from across the room and thought he was so handsome.”

They dated for a year or so before His Highness Prince Hubertus proposed to her at his family’s palace, Schloss Callenberg, in Coburg, Germany. They had a civil ceremony on 21 May 2009. On 23 May 2009, their religious ceremony was held at the St Moritz Church in Coburg, Germany. Many royals attended the second ceremony including those from Germany, Their Majesties King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden and Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium.

For a time, the newly-married couple lived in New York. They now divide their time between Munich and Coburg.
