Two new photographs of Prince Henrik of Denmark were released yesterday by the Royal House to mark his 12th birthday.
Taken by his mother, Princess Marie, the images feature the young royal wearing a shirt with designs of the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre in Paris. The photos were taken in France, where the Prince celebrated his birthday yesterday.
Prince Henrik lives in Paris with his family where his father is currently working as a Military Attaché at the Danish Embassy in the French capital.
His Highness Prince Henrik Carl Joachim Alain was born on 4 May 2009 in Copenhangen’s Rigshospitalet as the first child of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie. He has two older half-brothers from his father’s first marriage to Countess Alexandra: Princes Nikolai, 21, and Felix, 18. He has one younger sister, Princess Athena, 9.
Prince Henrik was named after his paternal grandfather, the late Prince Consort, Henrik, who died in 2018. His middle names Joachim and Alain come from his father and maternal grandfather, respectively.
Before moving to France, Henrik attended the private Catholic school Sct. Joseph Søstrenes Skole in Ordrup, Denmark.
As Queen Margrethe’s grandson, Henrik is ninth in the Danish line of succession.
