Another queen enters the podcast world

Queen Mary of Denmark is joining an exclusive club- royal podcasters! The Danish Queen has shared that she will be launching a new podcast. She joins Queen Camilla as the second queen to host a podcast.

Taking to Instagram, the Danish queen shared that The Mary Foundation will be launching a podcast soon.

The podcast will initially be three episodes long and will be focusing on the topic of loneliness in youth. The episodes will feature interviews with mental health professionals, as well as the  young people who are currently having these experiences to provide “an in-depth insight into the nuances of loneliness”.

Queen Mary explained why this topic needs to be discussed, sharing, ”we know from the study “Loneliness in Denmark” that 73% of 16-19 year olds experience loneliness, whether they are alone or with others. At the same time, 17% of 16-24 year olds feel very lonely. These are heavy numbers that we need to do something about.

The Mary Foundation was established in 2007 by the then-Crown Princess Mary. The organisation helps to provide support for those experiencing social isolation and mental health issues. As social isolation is often a determining factor in many personal and societal issues, Queen Mary wanted to use her support to help address this.

Further information will be coming later, including an airing schedule and whether or not Her Majesty will be taking part in the podcast herself. In any case, she finished her message with the hope that people will support the podcast despite it being a new venture for The Mary Foundation.
