Lindsay Lohan has “platonic and respectful” relationship with Saudi Crown Prince

American actress and singer Lindsay Lohan, 33, has a “platonic and respectful” relationship with Saudi Arabia’s 34-year-old Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, according to Lohan’s father, Michael.

Rumours began circulating over the summer about Lindsay Lohan’s relationship with the staunchly religious prince called MBS with some rumours going as far as to claim they were dating. However, Michael Lohan put those rumours to rest when speaking to Page Six remarking, “They are just friends, Lindsay has a lot of powerful friends in the Middle East because she is huge out there. Lindsay met MBS because of the work she has been doing in the Middle East. She is working to help people in the region, particularly refugees.”

“Nobody writes about the good work Lindsay does in Syria. They just want to hear the bad stuff. She has a platonic and respectful relationship with MBS, nothing more,” her father continued.

Mr Lohan was asked by Page Six if he had concerns about his daughter associating with a man accused of ordering the assassination of Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi and locking up members of his own family.

He responded, “None of that has proven to be true. Lindsay says he’s a good person. She feels safe, she has good people around her, and she knows how to conduct herself.”

Former Disney star Lindsay Lohan was raised Catholic but began exploring Islam in 2016 and considered converting. Since then, she’s been seen with the Quran and wearing a headscarf; she also has a Muslim greeting on her Instagram account. However, she’s never officially confirmed if she converted to Islam.

MBS became the heir to the Saudi throne in June 2017. He is the son of King Salman who ascended the throne upon the death of his older brother, King Abdullah on 23 January 2015.
