<![CDATA[The author of a controversial new play, which
reportedly insinuates that James Hewitt was Prince Harry's father,
has spoken out for the first time regarding this rumour and
subsequently denied that his play suggests this.
Speaking to BBC Newsbeat about the claims, playwright Jon Conway
commented, "The press have run away with that story. Neither
James nor the play makes any claim he is the father of Prince
Harry. Its one of many examples where the public hasn't been told
the whole truth."
When Jon Conway was researching and writing 'Truth, Lies, Diana' he
came across evidence which suggested that James Hewitt knew Diana,
Princess of Wales, before the birth of Prince Harry in 1984. When
Conway presented Hewitt with this evidence he responded with, "Yes,
that is the inconvenient truth." In the play, the revelation that
Diana knew James Hewitt before 1984 is shared with the
audience.
Jon Conway continued, "At no point did he or does he claim he's the
father of Prince Harry, the press have chosen to misrepresent that.
The point we're making is that it would appear that the palace and
certain sections of the media have conspired to not tell the whole
truth."
The new play opens in London next week and although it says it
reveals 'sensational new information' about the death of Diana, the
author is insistent that the play does not in anyway suggest that
James Hewitt is the father of Prince Harry. James Hewitt has
previously said that there is "no possibility whatsoever" he is
Harry's father.
Buckingham Palace declined to comment on Jon Conway's new play.
