Prince William shows he’s a Traitors fan as he comes face to face with one of the big stars of the celebrity show

Prince William meets people in Ilminster

The Prince of Wales gave away that he’s a fan of ratings hit show, The Traitors.

As he met Ross Kemp, who is starring in the latest celebrity version of the show, he made one quick move which proved he’s been following it closely.

The two were in Ilminster in Somerset for an event for the National Emergencies Trust when the heir to the throne put his hand out to touch the actor’s arm. As Celebrity Traitors got under way, Ross Kemp was seen getting jumpy as his co-star, Leigh Anne Pinnock rubbed his arm as the two passed each other during drinks at the famous castle. He then said he was worried she was trying to ”murder” him in plain sight – each series, the Traitors are set the task of getting rid of one of the Faithful while everyone else is looking using a subtle move.

Prince William capitalised on that by rubbing Ross Kemp’s arm when they first met and then laughing. Later, he posed for photos in which he was seen touching his shoulder as a jokey reference to the moment which has gone viral ono social media.

The first in line t the throne then admitted that he was hoping to get some spoilers from the actor who has been one of the staand out stars of this second series of Celebrity Traitors.

Prince William and Ross Kemp were at the launch of the National Emergencies Trust’s Ready Together toolkit which is designed to help local communities prepare for extreme situations.

As well as preparation, the toolkit is about responding to emergencies.

Among those that the Prince met were volunteers who are involved in the National Emergencies Trust – William is patron of the organisation.

While in Ilminster, Prince William also met community leaders and local business owners who helped local residents during recent spells of extreme weather. He heard from the Ilminster Resilience Group which has also supported those impacted by extreme situations.

However, he didn’t hear any spoilers about Celebrity Traitors from its star. The show is getting record audiences with big numbers tuning in to see the start of this series. Ross Kemp’s jumpy moment has got almost as much attention as Richard E Grant declaring he was a Traitor, just moments after getting the role. The Traitors are meant to keep their ID secret but his revelation made headlines.

Prince William, like the rest of us, will have to wait until the next episode to find out whether this double bluff has worked.
