Prince George has officially begun his studies at Eton, arriving for his first day with his parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales at his side.
The thirteen year old prince walked through a rain soaked quad on his arrival at the school.
He was greeted by headmaster Simon Henderson and provost Nicholas Coleridge as he walked into the school.
After a short conversation, George headed inside with his new headmaster and his parents to begin his Eton career.
The prince, second in line to the throne, will spend five years at the school as a boarder.
Eton is a twenty minute walk away from Windsor Castle and close to George’s family home at Forest Lodge on the Windsor estate.
Earlier this summer, Prince William revealed that George had tried out boarding at his former school, Lambrook, where pupils can stay for one or several nights at a time, even if they are usually day students.
Prince George looked relaxed and confident as he walked into the school. He was noticeably the same height as his mother, the Princess of Wales, who was wearing heels and he’s closing in on his father, Prince Wiliam.
Later, the Prince and Princess of Wales released three new portraits of their eldest child to mark this milestone. Prince George was photographed by Matt Porteous inside Eton College and wearing the school’s famous uniform.
While George began his new school, his younger sister and brother were back at Lambrook where they have been pupils since September 2022.
The new school term comes at a busy time with the Royal Family’s public engagements picking up after the summer break. Tomorrow, the Prince of Wales will be in Oslo to represent Charles III at the funeral of King Harald V of Norway.
