The Princess of Wales has been named Britain’s best-dressed person for 2026 by fashion and lifestyle magazine Tatler.
Catherine, 44, topped the publication’s annual list, reclaiming the number one spot after previously being recognised in 2022. The magazine praised the Princess for her elegant return to public life following her cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Describing the future Queen as “Britain’s chicest figure”, Tatler said she is “back to health – and back to being a Brit-fashion heroine”, adding that her carefully chosen outfits continue to “light up royal occasions”.
The Princess has attracted widespread praise for her wardrobe throughout the year, with several appearances capturing public attention. Among the highlights were her vibrant yellow ensemble at Royal Ascot, a sophisticated green dress worn for the Wimbledon men’s singles final and a timeless pale blue outfit for Trooping the Colour.
According to the Evening Standard, the annual list celebrates figures whose style has made a significant impact over the past year across fashion, entertainment and public life.
Actor Edward Bluemel, who is set to become the youngest actor to portray Hercule Poirot in an upcoming BBC adaptation, was the highest-ranked man on the list in fourth place. Tatler praised his “London cool-boy look” and 1990s-inspired style.
Second place went to doctor and health content creator Dr Raj Arora, while British athlete Temi Ojora finished third.
Gjin Lipa, the younger brother of singer Dua Lipa, was ranked fifth after impressing Tatler with his red carpet fashion, while Bridgerton actress Hannah Dodd rounded out the top ten.
Also featured in the top ten were arts patron Batia Ofer, writer and television producer Jemima Khan, Valentina Pinault – the daughter of actress Salma Hayek and businessman François-Henri Pinault – and Victoria and Albert Museum director Sir Tristram Hunt.
The full list of Britain’s 25 best-dressed people for 2026 will be published in the September edition of Tatler, available from 6 August.
