King Charles III has achieved his highest public approval rating since ascending the throne, according to new polling released by YouGov.
The latest figures released by YouGov show that 68% of Britons believe the King is doing a good job as monarch, the highest level recorded by YouGov’s tracker since Charles became sovereign in September 2022. Just 16% believe he is doing a bad job.
The findings come just weeks before the fourth anniversary of the King’s accession following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Prince William remains the most popular member of the Royal Family, with 76% of Britons holding a favourable opinion of the Prince of Wales. Catherine, Princess of Wales, follows closely behind on 74%, while Princess Anne continues to enjoy strong support, with 70% viewing the Princess Royal positively.
The King himself is viewed favourably by 62% of Britons overall, compared with 31% who hold an unfavourable opinion of him, figures that have remained relatively stable over the past two years.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh also continue to attract positive public sentiment, with around half of Britons expressing favourable views of Prince Edward and Sophie.
Opinion on Queen Camilla remains more evenly divided. The poll found that 43% of Britons have a positive view of the Queen, while 44% hold an unfavourable opinion.
Among the younger generation of royals, Prince Harry’s ratings have improved slightly over the past year. Around 33% of Britons now view the Duke of Sussex positively, up six percentage points since May 2025, while negative views have fallen to 58%.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, remains one of the more divisive members of the Royal Family. The survey found that 22% of Britons have a favourable opinion of her, while 65% view her negatively.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor continues to record the lowest approval ratings of any member of the Royal Family. Just 2% of Britons said they held a positive opinion of the former Duke of York, while 92% viewed him unfavourably.
The poll also suggests continued public support for the monarchy itself. Sixty-four per cent of Britons believe the United Kingdom should remain a monarchy, compared with 23% who would prefer an elected head of state.
