King Charles shared the lead carriage in the Royal Ascot procession with one of his cousins and their new partner, making another royal wedding a possibility.
David, The Earl of Snowdon joined The King and Queen at the head of the procession on day three of Ascot, one of the most glittering parts of the racing festival.
With the Earl was his new partner, Isabelle de la Bruyere. Her inclusion in the royal party is seen as a nod towards further formalising their relationship.
Last year, The King welcomed Harriet Sperling to the procession just weeks before she and Peter Phillips announced their engagement.
The King has taken a delight in sharing Royal Ascot with his cousins this year. On the second day of the meeting, he was joined the Earl of Snowdon’s sister, Lady Sarah Chatto, and her husband, Daniel, in the lead carriage.
David and Sarah are the children of Princess Margaret and King Charles spent a lot of time with them as they all grew up.
Day three of Royal Ascot also saw the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh included in the carriage procession for the first time this year.
Edward and Sophie arrived with the Princess Royal and her husband. Sir TIm Laurence.
And Sophie kept up the wedding theme by wearing the necklace she used at her own marriage to Prince Edward. The couple tied the knot on June 19th 1999 at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor. Just 24 hours before their 27th wedding anniversary, Sophie made the romantic gesture of wearing her wedding jewels again. The nod was even more sentimental as Prince Edward helped design the gems.
Zara Tindall was in the third carriage although Mike Tindall wasn’t part of the procession party. Zara accompanied Willie Mullins. Also with them were Princess Zahra Aga Khan and Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani.
The fourth carriage was taken by Lord and Lady Cavendish and by actor, Stanley Tucci, and his partner, Felicity Blunt.
King Charles and Queen Camilla have attended all three days of Royal Ascot so far. The Princess of Wales returned to the meeting for the first time in three years when she accompanied Prince William on day two.
