
A poignant joint tribute by the Princess of Wales and the Princess Royal has been revealed.
The two women will lead royal representation at the ANZAC Day events in London, paying tribute to those from Australia and New Zealand who lost their lvices in war.
Princess Anne will take part in the moving dawn service held every ANZAC Day at Wellington Arch at Hyde Park Corner. The Princess of Wales will later lay a wreath at the Cenotaph on behalf of King Charles.
The dawn service, which includes the sounding of the Last Post, is held as the sun begins to rise on April 25th, the anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli where so many Australian and New Zealand troops lost their lives in World War One.
it will include the sounding of the Last Post and of the reveille as well as readings and national anthems.
Later on ANZAC Day, the Princess of Wales will take part in a memorial service at the Cenotaph in Whitehall where she will lay a wreath on behalf of The King. There will also be a Parade at the memorial.
Kate then travels to nearby Westminster Abbey for a Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving. There will be readings given by the High Commissioners of Australia and New Zealand as well as prayers read by children from both countries. A Māori waiata will be performed by Ngāti Rānana.
King George V attended the fist ANZAC Day commemorations which were held in London in 1916, the first anniversary of the Gallipoli landings. April 25th is a public holiday now in both Australia and New Zealand allowing as many people as possible to remember and commemorate all those who have lost their lives in conflict.
Kate and Anne will also both attend other events earlier the same week together. With the Royal Family they will take part in commemorations for the centenary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II which are set for April 21st, the 100th anniversary of her birth.
The Princess Royal will officially open the Memorial Gardens for Queen Elizabeth II. The Princess of Wales, along with Prince William, will be alongside Anne as royals gather at Buckingham Palace for a reception marking the centenary where The King will present birthday cards to some of those turning 100 this year.
