Police conclude their search of Sandringham, but their presence at Royal Lodge continues

Thames Valley Police have confirmed that searches at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate, the temporary Norfolk home of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, have concluded.

Meanwhile, searches at Mountbatten-Windsor’s former home of 18 years, Royal Lodge in Windsor, continue.

The former Prince Andrew, 66, was arrested on Thursday morning on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He has since been released under investigation and has not been charged. Police emphasised that inquiries remain active and that no further statement or media interviews will be provided at this stage.

The investigation relates to allegations that sensitive information may have been shared with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during the period when Andrew served as the United Kingdom’s trade envoy. Legal proceedings became active at the point of his arrest. Any decision on whether charges will be brought rests with the Crown Prosecution Service, and the process could take several weeks as police continue their inquiries.

The former prince was seen being driven away at speed from Aylsham detention centre following his release on Thursday evening.

It came around 11 hours after Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on the Sandringham estate.

The destination of the car wasn’t known.
