A discreet visit by the Prince of Wales to a Windsor pub earlier this year has generated renewed attention following the broadcast of his interview on Apple TV’s The Reluctant Traveler.
The appearance, filmed in February at The Two Brewers near Cambridge Gate, saw Prince William joined by actor Eugene Levy, an encounter which has since prompted a notable increase in visitors to the establishment. Stuart O’Brien, the pub’s proprietor, confirmed that the programme has had a measurable effect on business.
Speaking to Hello, Mr O’Brien said: “We’ve certainly seen more footfall.”
Mr O’Brien added that tourists are eager to occupy the same seating area used by the prince during filming, saying: “We jokingly refer to it as ‘the future King’s corner’ for now, though eventually we may rename it ‘the King’s corner’.”
A photograph of Prince William and Mr Levy has been mounted above the designated booth, accompanied by a commemorative plaque marking the occasion. A second image has also been installed behind the bar. Mr O’Brien recalled the prince’s modest request regarding the placement of the photograph: “He simply asked that it be centred on the board detailing the pub’s history, though I must admit it ended up slightly to the side.”
The Two Brewers has enjoyed additional exposure through mentions on Gogglebox, further reinforcing its profile among domestic audiences. “Being featured on both shows has undoubtedly brought more people through the door,” Mr O’Brien said.
Despite their prominence, the pub owner emphasised that both Prince William and Mr Levy conducted themselves with unassuming ease. “He’s extremely down-to-earth,” Mr O’Brien reflected. “They may have a high public profile, but at the end of the day, they’re just people with families and everyday concerns, and that’s wonderful to see.”
The appearance in The Reluctant Traveler included a candid conversation about the prince’s family life, during which he spoke warmly of his grandparents, providing viewers with a glimpse of the personal side of a senior member of the Royal Family.
