Royal nickname revealed in sweet birthday message

A sweet nickname shared by royals has been revealed as a princess took to social media to wish another a happy birthday.

Princess Eugenie headed online to share her very best with her big sister, Princess Beatrice, as she marked a special day. And, just like all little sisters everywhere, Eugenie managed to add a potential sibling cringe moment.

Her special message revealed a nickname she has for her sister. Eugenie wrote ”Happy happy birthday to my dearest Beabea”.

As if that wasn’t enough, the younger princess added in ”my big sissy” before finishing off with the sweet message ”the best in the entire world.”

The post came as Beatrice turned 37. She marked her special day on August 8th and her celebrations were held privately.

There was no birthday wish on the official social media channels of the Royal Family – those are kept for working members of the Firm.

Beatrice’s mother, Sarah, also took to socials to share some birthday love. The duchess told her first born that ”the hugs, the laughter, the quiet understanding between us. You make me so proud to be your mum, and I feel endlessly grateful for the woman you’ve become”. She added a video of the two of them hugging as she poured forth her wishes.

Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi kept it elegant in his online tribute. He wrote ”Happy Birthday to my BEAUTIFUL wife. You are the greatest.” The message was signed ‘E, W, S, A” – a reference to their family. W is for Wolfie, Edoardo’s son from a previous relationship, while S and A are the two daughters the couple have welcomed – Sienna, 3, and baby Athena.

Beatrice Elizabeth Mary was born on August 8th 1988 at the Portland Hospital in London, the first child of Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York. She is the fifth grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip and was fifth in line to the throne at the time of her birth. She is now ninth in line.
