King Of Denmark Duchess of Edinburgh Wimbledon

The second week of Wimbledon got off to a regal start on Monday, with the King of Denmark joining guests in the Royal Box.

King Frederik was greeted on centre court with a hug and a kiss on the cheek by the Duchess of Edinburgh who also took her place for the sporting action.

His Majesty was at the Championships to watch Danish Player, Clara Tauson, take on Iga Swiatek in the quarter finals.

The 57-year-old Danish monarch was also spotted at Wimbledon on Sunday, with a low-key appearance as he sat in the crowds to watch Chile’s Nicolas Jarry take on Britain’s Cameron Norrie.

King Frederik and Queen Mary are both avid tennis fans, with the Queen seen playing the sport on several occasions over the years.

Their Majesties are in the UK in a private capacity, with 19-year-old Crown Prince Christian acting as regent until July 13.
