Prince George and Princess Charlotte do ‘Gan-Gan’ proud as they join procession for Queen Elizabeth II

Prince George and Princess Charlotte of Wales walked solemnly behind the coffin of their great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, as it was borne into Westminster Abbey.

As the State Funeral of Her Late Majesty began, the second and third in line to the throne joined the royal party as it made its way into the ancient church for the State Funeral.

Nine year old George and Charlotte, 7, walked with their parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales. George was at his father’s side while Charlotte walked with her mother hand. Behind them were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

King Charles III led the procession along with Queen Camilla. The Princess Royal and her husband, Tim Laurence, followed with the Duke of York then the Earl and Countess of Wessex taking their places next.

The procession came at the start of a moving State Funeral which includes some of Her Late Majesty’s favourite hymns as well as solemn and formal tributes.

The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Dean of Windsor are leading the State Funeral.

Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest in the King George VI Memorial Chapel at St. George’s, Windsor this evening after a private family ceremony. A public Service of Committal takes place before that, at 4pm.
