Prince Albert tests positive for Covid for second time

Prince Albert II of Monaco has tested positive for Covid and is currently isolating.

Monaco’s Princely Palace said that Albert was asymptomatic and his health is giving ”no cause for concern”. He is working remotely and maintaining links with officials and the government.

It’s the second time the Prince, who is 64, has tested positive for coronavirus. He first contracted the illness in 2020 at the start of the global pandemic.

There was no update on the health of his wife, Princess Charlene, or on their twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.

Princess Charlene returned to Monaco at the end of 2021 following a stay of over six months in South Africa. She was unable to leave the country after developing serious complications following an ear, nose and throat infection. She was later treated in a clinic in Switzerland.

Charlene hasn’t been seen in Monaco since her return from South Africa.
