Embed from Getty ImagesAt 8:18 p.m. on 8 August 1988, Princess Beatrice was born at the Portland Hospital in London, the same hospital where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would welcome their son, Archie in 2019. Four days after the Princess’s birth, her parents introduced her to the public. Her name would not be released until 22 August. Beatrice is the older daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York. She is currently ninth in line to the British throne and is the fifth grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Embed from Getty ImagesThe Princess was christened at St James’s Palace. The young royal was christened by John Habgood, Archbishop of York, at the Palace’s Chapel Royal. The Chapel would be designated as the Princess’s wedding venue about 30 years later. The Chapel has hosted many other royal events including the marriage of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1840.

Embed from Getty ImagesBeatrice continued her education at the independent St George’s School in Ascot. She attended the school until 2007. At the age of seven, Beatrice was diagnosed with dyslexia. During her time at St George’s, her diagnosis became public. Because of this she delayed her GCSE exams for one year. She remained at St George’s to take her A-levels and was deemed Head Girl in her final year. Beatrice was a member of the school choir. She left St. George’s with three A Levels, obtaining a grade A in Drama and B grades in History and Film Studies.
