The Queen takes part in a special edition of Pointless with host Alexander Armstrong

The Queen took part in a special edition of Pointless alongside Alexander Armstrong on Thursday at the Sandringham Women’s Institute.

According to Mr Armstrong, Her Majesty captained a team at the meeting for the impromptu game of the popular BBC One quiz show.

The 92-year-old’s team ended the game as winners with a two-point victory.

Mr Armstrong said The Queen had some “some deft, silky Pointless skills”.

Her Majesty visits WI members every year as part of her stay at the Sandringham Estate.

She is also known to be a big fan of Pointless which airs six days a week in the evenings on BBC One.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, one source revealed that she encountered the show after turning to BBC One to watch the BBC News at Six, which The Queen watches frequently and is preceded by Pointless.

The show struck a chord with Her Majesty, and she now watches it frequently.

Alexander Armstrong later corroborated the source in a Radio Times interview, where he said a Palace insider affirmed that Pointless was indeed on Her Majesty’s TV viewing schedule.

Pointless has been airing on the BBC for ten years now and is one of the corporation’s most popular shows.
