The Queen to create a new Royal Household for the Duke & Duchess of Sussex

In a big reorganisation of Royal Operations, The Queen is to create a new household for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Harry and Meghan, who currently share a household with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, will be given a new team who will be based at Buckingham Palace.

The Sussex Family’s divorce from Kensington Palace means that the couple can focus on their own ventures.

In a statement, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “The Queen has agreed to the creation of a new Household for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following their marriage in May last year. The Household, which will be created with the support of The Queen and The Prince of Wales, will be established in the spring.”

Harry and Meghan will now be in the process of hiring new staff for their communications team who will directly report to The Queen’s Communications Secretary, Donal McCabe.

Because of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s departure from Kensington Palace, major changes are now afoot there.

Jason Knauf, the current Communications Secretary to the Cambridges and Sussexes, has been appointed as Senior Adviser to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. He will play no role in Harry & Meghan’s new office.

Meanwhile, Christian Jones has been appointed as the new Communications Secretary to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Sara Latham has been appointed to head up communications for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
