The Duke and Duchess bid New Zealand farewell

<![CDATA[The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent their last day in New Zealand visiting Royal New Zealand Police College in Porirua, near Wellington. They met with recruits, paid their respects to those officers killed on duty, viewed a police training display and held some of the New Zealand Police Dog puppies.

Prince George was not with his parents on their last engagements although he did receive a plush police dog and mock New Zealand Police uniform. Perhaps George too one day will say he wants to be a police officer when he grows up just as his father did when he was a young lad.
George has only been seen twice during the first part of William and Kate’s tour, once on the tarmac at Wellington Airport and during his time at The Royal New Zealand Plunket Society playgroup.

Earlier the rain seemed it would be a damper on the walkabout. The sun came out just in time for William and Kate to conclude their visit to New Zealand with a short walk through the Civic Centre and sign the city’s visitors book.
They boarded a Royal Australian Air Force aircraft for their flight to Sydney and are scheduled to arrive at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport around 2:00pm NSW.
From the airport they will travel to the Sydney Opera House to attend a reception hosted by the Governor and Premier of New South Wales. William will deliver a short speech and the couple will board a boat to Admiralty House.
