The Princess Royal was seated next to President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, at the State Banquet held at Buckingham Palace on Monday evening.
Different members of The Royal Family were scattered across the room so a royal could be seated between every few guests.
Mr Kushner was sat between The Queen’s daughter, Princess Anne, and the Governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney.
Her Majesty The Queen personally approves the seating plan, as well as other practical arrangments.
Other members of The Royal Family to be present at the State Banquet included the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, the Earl & Countess of Wessex, the Duke of York and Prince & Princess Michael of Kent among others.
Sat at the top of the U-shaped table was Her Majesty The Queen and the Prince of Wales & Duchess of Cornwall.
Also eating at the top of the table was the President and First Lady.
The banquet is being held in the Ballroom at Buckingham Palace and will see President Trump and the First Lady sat with members of The Royal Family and around 170 other guests.
Theresa May also attended the dinner – one of her last engagements as Prime Minister.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, House of Commons Speaker John Bercow and Liberal Democrat leader Sir Vince Cable are boycotting the event.
Both The Queen and President Trump delivered a speech prior to the food being served.
Her Majesty said: “Mr President, I am delighted to welcome you and Mrs Trump to Buckingham Palace this evening, just twelve months after our first meeting at Windsor Castle. Visits by American Presidents always remind us of the close and longstanding friendship between the United Kingdom and the United States, and I am so glad that we have another opportunity to demonstrate the immense importance that both our countries attach to our relationship.
“In the coming days, you will see some of our most treasured historical buildings, speak to the business leaders whose expertise and innovation drive our economies, and meet members of our Armed Services, past and present. You will also travel to Portsmouth and Normandy to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.”
