The Sunday Papers spell further trouble for Prince Andrew

Prince Andrew, Duke of York

The Sunday papers promise to land the Duke of York in a sticky situation when they hit the newsagents early in the morning.

The Mail on Sunday leads with a front page splash showing Prince Andrew in Jeffrey Epstein’s £63million back in 2010.

Pictures published in the Mail show the Duke peering out of the front door of the billionaire’s Manhattan home.

These stories will no doubt cause further headaches for Buckingham Palace who has issued numerous statements regarding Andrew’s former friendship with Epstein.

The Duke of York has denied all accusations of wrongdoing for many years, having been heavily scrutinised for his relationship with Epstein.

The new pictures published in the Mail on Sunday were taken in 2010, this was after the billionaire had served an 18-month prison sentence for soliciting a minor for prostitution.

In 2011 the Duke apologised for his friendship and was forced to step down as the UK special representative for trade and investment.

Epstein was facing federal sex trafficking charges in New York, however, news emerged of his death on Saturday morning.

The disgraced financier killed himself in his Manhattan cell just a few hours after the new court documents were opened.

Last week, Buckingham Palace responded to news that the Duke of York was named in the newly released US court papers which allege he groped a woman at a party hosted by Jeffrey Epstein.

The accusation was revealed by a judge last Friday after the allegation was contained in documents from a 2015 defamation case.

Buckingham Palace said that these court documents relate to US proceedings “to which the Duke Of York is not a party”.

They added: “Any suggestion of impropriety with underage minors is categorically untrue.”
