Speaking at the recent International Millinery Forum in Wagga,
Australia, the coveted designer said: “The Duchess of Cambridge and
the Countess of Wessex are regular clients.
“They’ll contact me when they think they have an outfit that fits
my style.”
The milliner who also counts Denmark’s Crown Princess Mary and Zara
Phillips as clients also explained how it has been a joy to work
with the royals.
“I’ve met most of them, they’re always really love, really nice.
They are just like normal people.”
Both Kate and Sophie have regularly been spotted in Jane Taylor
designs with the Duchess of Cambridge choosing the milliner for the
Diamond Jubilee thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral in June
2012, and for Prince George’s christening in October 2013.
Jane also revealed a typical hat takes about two days to
make. “With the base there is lots of layers under there you
can’t see, lots of stiffening and wiring inside so it’s quite a
long process,” she said.
