First up, Their Royal Highnesses attended a formal wreath laying
ceremony and commemoration for World War I at the War Memorial in
Seymour Square, Blenheim. The event was an emotional one with The
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge taking time to speak to veterans,
making them feel valued and not at all rushed.

Following the war memorial Their Royal Highnesses moved on to the
World War One Commemorative Event at the Omaka Aviation Heritage
Centre, where they were treated to a personalised tour of the
aircraft and displays. This appealed in particular to Prince
William who himself is a pilot. The couple were led around parts of
the exhibit by Sir Peter Jackson, a New Zealand born director known
for his work on The Lord of The Rings Trilogy and the prequels The
Hobbit. The three seemed to be in great spirits as they moved
around the centre with Jackson even being photographed
videoing/taking photos of Her Royal Highness on his phone.
After the events in Blenheim, the couple (and the press pool)
travelled by plane back to the country’s capitol of Wellington,
where they attended a State reception hosted by The
Governor-General at Government House. There, The Duke of Cambridge
delivered a short speech, and then along with The Duchess, unveiled
a new portrait of Her Majesty The Queen painted by a local artist.
The painting is a stunning one and has received great comments thus
far.
