The Duke of Sussex has followed the path his mother, Diana, started over twenty years ago. Harry has seen first hand the work that goes on to clear landmines and, like Diana before him, has walked through a field still being emptied of the weapons in a bid to increase awareness of the dangers they pose.

The Duke of Sussex joined the Halo Trust and spent the morning helping them in their mission. He detonated a mine from a safe distance as he was told about the efforts being made to eradicate mines.
Ahead of his visit, the Duke of Sussex posted a tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales on his official Instagram account that he was ”humbled” to ” to recognise her tireless mission as an advocate for all those she felt needed her voice the most, even if the issue was not universally popular”.

The duke will see how the area has changed since the mines were removed and how it has now become a thriving community.
