One of their own have achieved the dream and is off to marry her very own Prince Charming. Meghan Markle certainly wasn’t a damsel in distress, but her fairytale story has captured the hearts of Americans.
Born and raised in California, the former actress is now getting ready to marry Prince Harry on 19 May at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.
The popularity of the couple has been proven State Side with GfK MRI’s Issue Specific (IS) Readership Study. People Magazine outperformed their 12-month readership averages; their adult issue audience is just over 53 million. In the IS Readership Study, People’s 11 December 2017 issue featuring Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the cover brought in at least 40% more readers than typical.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were engaged slightly before the issue was released. Their engagement was announced on 27 November after months of speculations on when Harry would pop the question.
The issue topped the list beating out Time Magazine’s 18 December issue “The Silence Breakers” and Wine Spectator’s 31 December issue.
Fifth place was tied three ways. Two of those were In Touch‘s 11 December issue claiming Meghan was pregnant and therefore the cause of the engagement and OK! Magazine’s 18 December issue featuring Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on how they are “changing the royal rules”.
There is no doubt the international media will be in Windsor to cover the wedding of the year, along with all the well-wishers who will come into town to take part in the special day.
The owner of the Horse and Groom pub is apparently renting out two rooms above his bar opposite the castle for £15,000-a-night. Some rooms are going for more than that amount. One homeowner is considering leaving her Park Street home for the weekend as she was offered £10,000
Sam Glancy, landlady of The Carpenters Arms, told the Star she has rented out one floor to the US broadcaster NBC News when they send journalists to cover the ceremony. She’s said to have made a deal that is rumoured to have cost £30,000.
