Queen Camilla inherited the role of Patron of the beloved rescue in 2016, following Queen Elizabeth II in the role. And not only has she been Patron for nearly a decade, she adopted three dogs from Battersea: Beth, who sadly passed away in 2024, Bluebell, and now the newest pup, Moley.
And as she unveiled the garden, Her Majesty shared a portrait of her new canine companion, Moley,
In an Instagram reel that showed The Queen being welcomed by a guard of honour of rescue dogs and visiting the garden with several of the dogs at the rescue, the Royal Family shared that it has “all the things dogs love, and will provide Battersea with a tranquil space for the rescue dogs in their care, allowing them to spend time away from the kennel environment in a serene, natural setting.”
