Mike Tindall shared a previously unseen photo of his oldest daughter, Mia, with her great-grandfather, The Duke of Edinburgh, the latest family member to share a personal tribute to the late Prince Philip ahead of his funeral.
In a post on his personal Instagram account, Zara’s husband shared a photo of Prince Philip and Mia eating lunch together at Balmoral Castle with the caption: “It’s been a very sad week, but it has given us time to reflect on great memories, and stories both personal and shared. A devoted family man who we will forever miss but always love.”
The photo was yet another taken by The Duchess of Cambridge. Photos of the late Prince Philip taken by his family members have been shared throughout the week, with a series of Kate’s pictures released, as well as a personal favourite of The Queen’s taken by The Countess of Wessex in 2003, released early Saturday morning.
Prince Philip’s grandchildren have shared tributes to their late grandfather this week. In a statement on Monday, The Duke of Cambridge wrote: “My grandfather was an extraordinary man and part of an extraordinary generation. Catherine and I will continue to do what he would have wanted and will support The Queen in the years ahead. I will miss my Grandpa, but I know he would want us to get on with the job.”
The Duke of Sussex also released a statement on Monday, writing: “My grandfather was a man of service, honour and great humour. He was authentically himself, with a seriously sharp wit, and could hold the attention of any room due to his charm—and also because you never knew what he might say next.”
Princess Eugenie shared on her official Instagram: “I will remember you in your children, your grandchildren and great grandchildren.
“Thank you for your dedication and love for us all and especially Granny, who we will look after for you.”
Prince Philip will be laid to rest on Saturday in a funeral service at St George’s Chapel.
