The Duchess of Cambridge in self-isolation after coronavirus contact

The Duchess of Cambridge is self-isolating after coming into close contact with someone who later tested positive for coronavirus.

Kensington Palace announced that Kate was in isolation just hours before she was set to attend a service of thanksgiving for the NHS at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

In a statement, the palace said ”“Last week The Duchess of Cambridge came into contact with someone who has subsequently tested positive for COVID-19. Her Royal Highness is not experiencing any symptoms, but is following all relevant government guidelines and is self-isolating at home.”

The Duchess of Cambridge has received both her coronavirus jabs. However, government guidance is that anyone who has been in close contact with someone who tests positive for Covid should self isolate for ten day.

Kate was set to join her husband at the thanksgiving service. The Duke of Cambridge will now attend the St. Paul’s ceremony and a later Big Tea at Buckingham Palace for NHS workers by himself.
