The Princess Royal has expressed her sadness after her dog trainer was shot dead in Somerset on Saturday.
56-year-old Debbie Zurick died from injuries sustained over the weekend. Her husband, John, has been admitted to hospital with what police believe are self-inflicted injuries.
Princess Anne bonded with Mrs Zurick over their shared love of dogs.
Last year, Mrs Zurick trained a puppy The Queen’s daughter. She was also secretary of the Working Clumber Spaniel Society – an organisation Princess Anne is President and Patron.
A spokesperson for the 69-year-old royal said: “The Princess Royal is saddened to hear of the death of Mrs Debbie Zurick. She will be sorely missed as secretary of the Working Clumber Spaniel Society.”
