New photos begin royal celebrations for Princess Anne’s 70th birthday

Three new photos of the Princess Royal have been shared to mark her 70th birthday.

The portraits were taken by John Swannell and show Anne at her Gloucestershire home, Gatcombe Park.

Anne posed for the portaits in February, before the coronavirus pandemic led to lockdown in the UK, restrictions which are still being eased. Days before her big birthday, her son-in-law, Mike Tindall, confirmed that the current restrictions had led to changes to planned celebrations for Anne.

Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise was born at 11.50am on August 15th 1950 at Clarence House, London, the only daughter of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
