There was much delight and excitement at Royal Ascot on Tuesday after The King and Queen both attended the opening day of the meeting.
Their Majesties arrived at the racecourse in the spectacular carriage procession led by the beautiful Windsor Greys.
The King and Queen waved to spectators in the summer sunshine who all came for a glimpse of the royals.
Their Majesties were joined in their carriage by their close friends, the Duke and Duchess of Wellington.
In the second carriage of the procession in front of the Ascot grandstand was the Princess Royal, and her son, Peter Phillips.
They were joined by Lady Gabriella Kingston – her first major public appearance since the death of her husband, Thomas, earlier this year.
John Warren, The King’s racing adviser, was also in the second carriage.
Further down the procession in the third carriage was The Queen’s sister, Annabel Elliot and her son, Sir Ben Elliot.
They were joined by the Earl and Countess of Halifax.
Finally, in the fourth carriage of the procession was Sir Johnny and Lady Weatherby.
Ralph Beckett, one of the racing trainers employed by The King and Queen, also took his place in the carriage, alongside his wife, Izzi.
