The Princess Royal has carried out a staggering third of all royal engagements during the first four months of 2024.
In data compiled by MailOnline, Princess Anne has been holding the fort whilst other members of The Royal Family have been forced to reduce their workload due to illness.
Up until the end of April, the 73-year-old royal carried out 172 engagements – an increase of four during the same time period in 2023.
Her Royal Highness has completed approximately double the number of engagements as the second busiest royal – the Duke of Edinburgh – who has carried out 84.
The Princess has been described as the ‘lynchpin’ holding The Royal Family together, with other senior royals forced to pause official duties.
Both The King and the Princess of Wales were receiving treatment for cancer during the first four months of the year.
The Prince of Wales also reduced his diary in order to support his wife and their three children.
Other than Princess Anne, the only royal family members to increase their workload in 2024 are the Duke of Kent and the Duke of Gloucester.
The 88-year-old Duke of Kent increased his engagement tally by 19%, with the 79-year-old Duke of Gloucester conducting 11% more engagements than in 2023.
