Prince William talks missed movie nights as he attends BAFTAs

The Prince of Wales has admitted he’s had little chance to keep up to date with the hit movies in contention for awards this year and for a very good reason.

As he arrived at the BAFTAs, the Prince was asked if he had seen the films in contention for the much sought after awards and replied ”no, I’ve done the fewest I’ve ever done before…I’ve had other things on my mind.”

He had just offered apologies from the Princess of Wales who wasn’t able to attend this year’s glittering event as she continues to recover from major surgery.

The heir to the throne said ‘sorry Catherine can’t be here as well, she does love the BAFTAs”.

However, William was looking to the future as he noted ‘all the ones I watch, she watches with me…but hopefully, catch up soon.”

The Prince is President of BAFTA and was on hand to see prizes handed out to stars including Emma Stone, Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jnr and Da’vine Joy Randolph.

He was greeted by some familiar faces, too, taking a seat next to Cate Blanchett and catching up with David Beckham.

Earlier in the day, the Prince of Wales had announced a new initiative to provide housing for those in need with new properties being built on Duchy of Cornwall land.
