The Prime Minster has been among the first to send well wishes to King Charles after Buckingham Palace announced His Majesty is being treated for cancer.
Rishi Sunak said ”Wishing His Majesty a full and speedy recovery. I have no doubt he’ll be back to full strength in no time and I know the whole country will be wishing him well.”
Other politicians have also sent messages to The King who announced his cancer diagnosis just days after leaving hospital where he was treated for a benign prostate enlargement.
Sir Keir Starmer, the Leader of the Opposition, said ”On behalf of the Labour Party, I wish His Majesty all the very best for his recovery. We look forward to seeing him back to swift full health.”
The King began treatment for cancer on February 5th 2024 and will undergo a regular schedule for some time. His doctors have told him to stop public facing engagements during that period. His Majesty will continue with day to day work including his red boxes and meetings of the Privy Council.
