King Charles and Queen Camilla – ‘our hearts go out’ to the families of those killed in Sydney knife attack

King Charles III has said his heart goes out to the families of those killed in a knife attack at a shopping mall in Sydney, Australia.

The King sent a message to all those affected by the attack which left six people dead and at least another eight in hospital. Among those being treated is a nine month old baby whose mother was killed in the attacks which took place at the Bondi Junction Westfield shopping mall.

His Majesty said ”My wife and I were utterly shocked and horrified to hear of the tragic stabbing incident in Bondi. Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of those who have been so brutally killed during such a senseless attack.”

The King also had words of praise for police and emergency services at the scene, saying ”while the details of these shocking circumstances are still emerging, our thoughts are also with those who were involved in the response, and we give thanks for the bravery of the first responders and emergency services.”

The statement was signed ‘Charles R’.
