Brand new princess to be christened on royal wedding anniversary

Princess Ines of Sweden will be christened on a very special day – the tenth wedding anniversary of her parents.

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia will gather friends and family together for the baptism of their fourth child at Drottningholm Palace Chapel on June 13 2025, exactly ten years after their marriage.

Ines, who was born on February 7 2025, will be christened by the Bishop of Strangnas, Johan Dalman, who is also Chaplain to the Swedish Royal Court and by Michael Bjerkhagen who is pastor to the parish of the Royal Court.

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden will lead guests at the baptism of their ninth grandchild. There will be a special reception afterwards.

It is expected that Ines will, as is customary, be given the Order of the Seraphim by her grandfather on the day of her christening.

The godparents for Princess Ines haven’t yet been announced.

Ines Marie Lilian Silvia is the only daughter of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia who are also parents to Prince Alexander, 8, Prince Gabriel, 7 and Prince Julian, 4.
