Big cheers for the Princess of Wales as she arrives to see men’s final at Wimbledon

The Princess of Wales was given a rapturous reception as she arrived at Wimbledon for the Men’s Singles final.

Catherine got a standing ovation and huge cheers as she made her way into the royal box on Centre Court ahead of the showpiece match.

The Princess smiled and waved as the applause went on. It’s her first public appearance in a month and her second since announcing she is being treated for cancer.

Earlier, she had arrived at the All England Club with Princess Charlotte. Her sister, Pippa Matthews, is also with her.

It’s the first time the Princess of Wales has attended Wimbledon this year. As patron of the All England Club she is usually a regular throughout the two week tournament but her ongoing treatment means this year, she hasn’t been able to attend.

She later presented the trophy to Carlos Alcaraz who defeated Novak Djokovic in straight sets.

The Prince of Wales is on his way to Berlin where he will cheer on England as they play Spain in the final of the Euros. It’s not known if Prince George is accompanying his father but the fact he isn’t with his mother and sister at Wimbledon could indicate that he, too, will be in Germany for the final.
