Prince William and Kate take Prince George to Balmoral

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have arrived at Balmoral to introduce Prince George to great-grandad Prince Philip.

William and Kate flew to the Aberdeen via private jet before driving to the Queen’s Scottish estate, the Daily Mail reports.

The Duke of Edinburgh was the only senior member of the royal family not to meet George after his birth. Philip was resting at Sandringham at the time of George’s arrival, after undergoing surgery earlier this year.

The new parents were visited by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall in the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital the day after welcoming their first son, and The Queen made the trip to Kensington Palace just two days after the Prince’s birth where she spent around 30 minutes with the couple and their son.

It is believed that Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall are currently at nearby Birkhall, and speculation is growing over a family photo featuring The Queen, Charles, William and George.

With George’s arrival, it is the first time since Queen Victoria’s reign that three generations of heirs who stand to inherit the throne are alive.

“Everyone has been waiting for this photo to be taken,” a source added.

Earlier this week, the Duchess of Cambridge made a radiant return to royal duties as she and the Duke attended the Tusk Trust Awards in London.

Kate dazzled in a sparkling floor-length Jenny Packham gown as she arrived on the red carpet. The engagement was the new mum’s first official event since the birth of Prince George in July.

Ahead of George’s arrival, the Duchess went on maternity leave in mid-June after joining the Royal Family at this year’s Trooping the Colour.
